Headphones
You can record videos while monitoring their sound by connecting commercially available headphones to the camera.
(A) Headphone socket
Do not use the headphone cables with the length of 3 m (9.8 feet) or more.
When headphones are connected, beep sounds, AF beep, and electronic shutter sounds are muted.
Switching the Sound Output Method

Audio without time lag. It may differ from the sound recorded in videos. |

Audio to be recorded in videos. Output sound may be delayed from actual sound. |
The setting is fixed to [REC SOUND] in the following cases: – During output of audio via HDMI – When [Special Mic.] is set to [LENS AUTO], [SHOTGUN], [S.SHOTGUN], or [MANUAL] – When using an XLR Microphone Adaptor (DMW-XLR1: optional) |
Adjusting the Headphone Volume
Connect the headphones and rotate .
: Reduces the volume.
: Increases the volume.
You can also adjust the volume by touching []/[] on the playback screen.
To adjust the volume using the menu:

Select [Headphone Volume].

Press to adjust the headphone volume and then press or .
It can be adjusted in a range of [0] to [LEVEL15].
