bullet02When the streaming function is not to be used, set [Streaming Function] to [OFF].

When set to [ON], if the [Connection Method] is set to [USB Tethering] or [LAN], power is supplied from the battery of this camera to the connected device, so the battery will be consumed faster.

bullet02The communication speed depends on the internet connection and the handset, so we recommend that you perform streaming tests beforehand.

bullet02Refer to the “16. Streaming Function” chapter for notes about when the streaming function is being used. (character_reference16. Streaming Function)

Image Qualities in [Streaming Quality] Have Been Added

The H.265 (4K/FHD) and H.264 (4K) streaming image qualities have been added.

The items you can set depend on the connection method.

  1. This can be set when the streaming destination is RTMP. (Cannot be set if it is RTMPS.)

bullet02Set a streaming image quality (bit rate) appropriate to the communication speed of your internet connection.

Using the Streaming Function with USB Tethering Connections

It is possible to live stream from locations where a router is not available, when you are out and about for example, by connecting the camera to the internet via the mobile data communication (4G/5G, etc.) on your smartphone.

image_stream-by-usb

(A) USB port

(B) USB connection cable (commercially available)

bullet02For information about the tethering function of your smartphone, refer to the operating instructions of the smartphone and the contract you have with the cell-phone provider.

Depending on the contract you have, there may be limitations on tethering or it may incur large additional charges.

bullet02The NETWORK connection lamp does not light when connected to the internet via USB tethering.

Getting started:

bullet02Confirm that the camera and the smartphone are not connected.

  1. Set the mode dial to [icon_mode-p-motion_table].

  1. Set the menu on the camera.

character_bullet-largebutton_menu-set character_arrow [icon_setup-menu] character_arrow [icon_setup-inout] character_arrow [Streaming]

  1. In [Streaming Method], select [Direct], and set [Connection Method] to [USB Tethering].

  1. In [Streaming Setup], set [Streaming Quality] and the streaming destination.

bullet02How to set the streaming destination (character_referenceStream by Operating the Camera)
Read Steps 1 to 3-2.

  1. Set [Streaming Function] to [ON].

character_bullet-largeYou can also perform streaming settings by using Bluetooth to connect a smartphone on which the smartphone app “LUMIX Sync” is installed and the camera.

  1. In the “LUMIX Sync” home screen, select [Others] character_arrow [Live streaming] character_arrow video sharing website or [Stream with RTMP/RTMPS], and then select [USB Tethering] in [Connection Method].

  1. Set [Streaming Quality] and [Privacy settings].

  1. Select [Set to the camera].

character_bullet-largeIf the message [Unable to confirm security of the streaming address. Continue?] is displayed, check that the URL of the streaming destination is correct before continuing the connecting operation.

character_bullet-large[icon_streaming-set-s] is displayed on the recording screen.

  1. Connect the camera and the smartphone using a USB connection cable.

  1. Enable the USB tethering function on the smartphone.

character_bullet-largeSelect [USB Tethering] (for Android devices) or [Personal Hotspot] (for iOS devices) on the smartphone.

bullet02If a confirmation message appears on the smartphone screen asking for permission to enable access by the connected device, grant permission. Connection is not complete until permission is given.

bullet02Please also refer to the operating instructions of your smartphone.

  1. Start/end streaming.

character_bullet-largePress the shutter button or video rec. button.

bullet02You can also perform the same operation by selecting [Start streaming]/[Stop streaming] in “LUMIX Sync”.

character_bullet-largeWhen streaming starts, [icon_streaming-start-s] is displayed on the recording screen.

character_bullet-largeOperations to start streaming may be needed on the video sharing website.

  1. End the streaming function.

character_bullet-largebutton_menu-set character_arrow [icon_setup-menu] character_arrow [icon_setup-inout] character_arrow [Streaming] character_arrow [Streaming Function] character_arrow [OFF]

bullet02You can also perform the same operation by selecting [End streaming] in “LUMIX Sync”.

Using the Streaming Function with Wired LAN Connections (IP Streaming (RTP/RTSP))

You can perform live streaming with IP streaming (RTP/RTSP) by connecting a commercially available USB ethernet adaptor to the camera.

image_stream-by-lan

(A) USB port

(B) USB ethernet adaptor (commercially available)

(C) LAN cable

(D) Router

Getting started:

bullet02Install the RTP/RTSP compatible streaming software onto your PC.

  1. Set the mode dial to [icon_mode-p-motion_table].

  1. Set [IP Address Setting (LAN)] to the same network as the PC.

character_bullet-largebutton_menu-set character_arrow [icon_setup-menu] character_arrow [icon_setup-inout] character_arrow [LAN / Wi-Fi] character_arrow [LAN / Wi-Fi Setup] character_arrow [IP Address Setting (LAN)] (character_reference[LAN / Wi-Fi Setup])

bullet02If you have modified settings in [IP Address Setting (LAN)], turn the camera off and on again.

  1. Set up streaming settings on the camera.

character_bullet-largebutton_menu-set character_arrow [icon_setup-menu] character_arrow [icon_setup-inout] character_arrow [Streaming]

  1. In [Streaming Method], select [Via PC Software], and set [Connection Method] to [LAN].

  1. In [Streaming Setup], set [Streaming Quality] and [RTSP Port].

  1. Set [Streaming Function] to [ON].

bullet02[icon_streaming-set-s] is displayed on the recording screen.

  1. Connect the commercially available USB ethernet adaptor to the camera, then use LAN cables to connect the camera and the PC to a router.

  1. Use your streaming software to start/end streaming.

character_bullet-largeSet the URL as follows in your streaming software:

rtsp://(IP address of this camera)/stream

character_bullet-largeIf the [RTSP Port] has been changed from the default setting (554), set as follows:

rtsp://(IP address of this camera):(RTSP port)/stream

character_bullet-largeWhen streaming starts, [icon_streaming-start-s] is displayed on the recording screen.

character_bullet-largeFor details about operation methods, refer to the operating instructions of the streaming software.

bullet02While the IP streaming function is being used, you can connect “LUMIX Tether” with the wired LAN connection just by starting “LUMIX Tether”. You do not have to operate the camera.

(The live view is not displayed on the “LUMIX Tether” screen during streaming.)
