You can charge the battery in the camera body.

You can also turn on the camera and supply power from an electrical outlet.

You can also use the Battery Charger (DMW-BTC15: optional).

bullet02The battery that can be used with the camera is DMW-BLK22. (As of May 2024)

bullet02The battery is not charged at the time of purchase. Charge the battery before use.


Battery Insertion

bullet02Always use genuine Panasonic batteries (DMW-BLK22).

bullet02If you use other batteries, we cannot guarantee the quality of this product.

  1. Set the camera on/off switch to [OFF].

  1. Open the battery door.

  1. Push the lever (A) in the direction of the arrow and then remove the battery.

bullet02Ensure that no foreign objects are adhering to the inner side of the battery door.

bullet02Remove the battery after use.

(The battery will drain if left inserted in the camera for a long period of time.)

bullet02The battery becomes warm after use, during charging, and immediately after charging.

The camera also becomes warm during use. This is not a malfunction.

bullet02Be careful when removing the battery as the battery will jump out.


Inserting a Battery into the Camera for Charging

bullet02It is recommended to use the Panasonic AC Adaptor (DMW-AC11: optional) or the supplied accessories of the Panasonic Battery Charger (DMW-BTC15: optional) for charging.

bullet02You can charge with the camera body using a commercially available AC adaptor and a USB connection cable.

–Supports 5 V/3 A (15 W) DC output

–USB Type-C terminal

character_asteriskUse a USB connection cable with 15 W output or better for charging.

bullet02You can also use an AC adaptor with 5 V/500 mA or better for charging. However, charging time may be longer than with the recommended AC adaptor.

bullet02Operation is not guaranteed with all commercially available devices.

(B) To the AC adaptor


  1. Set the camera on/off switch to [OFF].

  1. Insert the battery into the camera.

  1. Connect the camera USB port and the AC adaptor using the USB connection cable.

bullet02Check the direction of the terminals and plug in/out straight holding onto the plug.

(Inserting these at an angle may cause deformation or malfunction.)

  1. Connect the AC adaptor to an electrical outlet.

bullet02The charging light (C) turns red and charging begins.

Charging time: Approx. 240 min


bullet02Using either the camera body and the optional AC Adaptor (DMW-AC11) or the camera body and the supplied accessories of the optional Battery Charger (DMW-BTC15).

bullet02The indicated charging time is for when the battery has been discharged completely.

The charging time may vary depending on how the battery has been used.

The charging time for the battery in hot/cold environments or a battery that has not been used for a long time may be longer than normal.

bullet02You can also charge the battery by connecting a USB device (PC, etc.) and the camera with the USB connection cable.

In that case, charging may take a while.

bullet02After charging, disconnect the connection to the power source.

bullet02While the charging light is blinking red, charging is not possible.

– The temperature of the battery or surroundings is either too high or too low.

Try charging at an ambient temperature between 10 °C and 30 °C (50 character_degreeF and 86 character_degreeF).

– The terminals of the battery are dirty.

Remove the battery and wipe off the dirt with a dry cloth.

bullet02Using charging methods other than those specified may result in fluid leakage, overheating, combustion, rupturing, etc., and these may cause injury.

bullet02Even when the camera on/off switch is set to [OFF] thus turning the camera off, it consumes power.

When the camera will not be used for a long time, remove the power plug from the electrical outlet in order to save power.


Using the Camera While Supplying It with Power (Supplying Power)

When the battery is inserted into the camera for charging and the camera is turned on, you can record while the camera is being supplied with power.


bullet02It is recommended to use the Panasonic AC Adaptor (DMW-AC11: optional) or the supplied accessories of the Panasonic Battery Charger (DMW-BTC15: optional) for supplying power.

bullet02You can supply power to the camera body using a commercially available AC adaptor and USB connection cable.

bullet02Remaining charge in the battery may decrease depending on usage conditions. When the battery level is depleted, the camera will turn off.

The exact level varies depending on the environment and the operating conditions.

bullet02We recommend that genuine Panasonic batteries are used.

There is a possibility that the use of non-genuine batteries can cause accidents or malfunctions that may lead to fire or explosion.

Please be advised that we are not liable for any accident or failure resulting from the use of non-genuine batteries.

bullet02Do not leave any metal items (such as clips) near the contact areas of the power plug.

Otherwise, a fire and/or electric shocks may be caused by short-circuiting or the resulting heat generated.

bullet02Do not use USB extension cables or USB conversion adaptors.

bullet02The battery can be charged even when it still has some charge left, but it is not recommended that the battery charge be frequently topped up while the battery is fully charged.

bullet02If there is a power outage or other problem with the electrical outlet, then charging may not complete successfully.

Reconnect the power plug.

bullet02Do not connect to keyboard or printer USB ports, or to USB hubs.

bullet02If the connected PC enters sleep status, then charging/power supply may stop.

bullet02If the battery indication does not go to [icon_battery-indi6] even when charging is complete, the battery may be deteriorating.

Try not to use that battery.


[Power Save Mode]

This is a function to automatically turn the camera to sleep (power save) status or turn off the monitor if no operation is performed for a set time. Reduces battery consumption.

[Sleep Mode]

Sets the amount of time until the camera is put to sleep.

bullet02The power consumption of the camera may increase when [Sleep Mode] is set to [OFF].

[Sleep Mode(Wi-Fi)]

Sets the camera to sleep 15 minutes after being disconnected from Wi-Fi.

bullet02The power consumption of the camera may increase when [Sleep Mode(Wi-Fi)] is set to [OFF].

[Auto Monitor Off]

Sets the amount of time it takes for the monitor to turn off.

(The camera is not turned off.)


bullet02To recover from [Sleep Mode] or [Sleep Mode(Wi-Fi)], perform one of the following operations:

– Press the shutter button halfway.

– Set the camera on/off switch to [OFF] and then [ON] again.

bullet02To recover from [Auto Monitor Off], press any button.

– While connected to a PC

– During video recording/video playback

– During a [Time Lapse Shot]

– When recording with [Stop Motion Animation] (when [Auto Shooting] is set)

– When recording with [Focus Transition]
