Connect with a smartphone which has the “Panasonic LUMIX Sync” (below: “LUMIX Sync”) smartphone app installed.

Use “LUMIX Sync” for remote recording and image transfers.


Installing “LUMIX Sync”

“LUMIX Sync” is an application for smartphones provided by Panasonic.

  1. Connect the smartphone to a network.

  1. (Android) Select “Google Play™ Store”.

(iOS) Select “App Store”.

  1. Enter “LUMIX” or “panasonic lumix sync” into the search box.

  1. Select and install the “Panasonic LUMIX Sync” icon_lumix-link.

Connecting to a Smartphone (Bluetooth Connection)

Follow a simple connection setup procedure (pairing) to connect to a smartphone that supports Bluetooth Low Energy.

When pairing is set up, the camera also automatically connects to the smartphone via Wi-Fi.

bullet02For the first-time connection, pairing settings are required.

Android™: Android 7 or higher with Bluetooth 4.0 or higher (excluding those that do not support Bluetooth Low Energy)

iOS: iOS 12 or higher

bullet02Turn on the Bluetooth function on the smartphone beforehand.


  1. On the smartphone, start up “LUMIX Sync”.

bullet02If you have closed the message, select [icon_question], then register the camera using [Camera registration (pairing)].

  1. Check the content in the displayed guide and select [Next] until the screen to register the camera is displayed.

  1. Set the camera to Bluetooth pairing standby state.

bullet02The paired smartphone is registered as a paired device.

bullet02During Bluetooth connection, [icon_bluetooth_s] is displayed in the recording screen.

When the Bluetooth function is enabled, but a connection is not established with the smartphone, [icon_bluetooth_s] appears translucent.

bullet02Up to 16 smartphones can be registered.

If you try to register more than 16 smartphones, the registration information will be deleted from the oldest first.

To terminate the Bluetooth connection, turn off the Bluetooth function of the camera.

bullet02Even if you terminate the connection, the pairing information for it will not be deleted.

Connect paired smartphones using the following procedure.


  1. Enable the Bluetooth function of the camera.

  1. On the smartphone, start up “LUMIX Sync”.

bullet02If a message is displayed indicating that the smartphone is searching for cameras, close the message.

  1. Select [icon_lumix-sync-menu].

  1. Select [Bluetooth Setup].

  1. Turn Bluetooth ON.

  1. From [Registered camera(s)] items, select the camera’s device name.

bullet02Even if you set up pairing with more than one smartphone, you can only connect to one smartphone at a time.

bullet02When pairing takes some time, canceling the pairing settings on both the smartphone and camera and re-establishing the connection may result in the camera being detected correctly.

  1. Cancel the pairing setting of the camera.

  1. Select the smartphone for which to cancel the pairing.

bullet02Also cancel the pairing setting on the smartphone.

bullet02When [Reset] in the [Setup] ([Setting]) menu is used to reset the network settings, the information for registered devices is deleted.


Connecting to a Smartphone ([Wi-Fi connection])

Use Wi-Fi to connect the camera and a smartphone.

With default settings, simple connection with smartphones is possible without entering a password.

You can also use password authentication for enhanced connection security.

bullet02A third party may be able to intercept your transmissions if you do not use password authentication. When recording or transmitting important images, we recommend using password authentication. (character_referenceUsing Password Authentication to Connect)


  1. Set the camera to Wi-Fi connection standby status.

  1. In the setting menu of the smartphone, turn the Wi-Fi function ON.

  1. Select the SSID displayed on the camera.

  1. On the smartphone, start up “LUMIX Sync”.

  1. (At the first connection) Confirm the device name displayed on the camera and then select [Yes].

bullet02When a device different than the one you want to connect to is displayed, the camera will automatically connect to that device if you select [Yes].

If there are other Wi-Fi connection devices nearby, we recommend using either QR code or manual password input to connect with password authentication. (character_referenceUsing Password Authentication to Connect)

bullet02When the following functions are being used, [Wi-Fi Function] is not available:

– [Streaming Function]

– [Auto Transfer]

You can enhance Wi-Fi connection security by using password authentication through either QR code or manual input.


Scanning QR code to connect

  1. Set [Wi-Fi Password] on the camera to [ON].

  1. On the smartphone, start up “LUMIX Sync”.

bullet02If a message is displayed indicating that the smartphone is searching for cameras, close the message.

  1. Select [icon_lumix-sync-menu].

  1. Select [Wi-Fi connection].

  1. Select [QR code].

  1. Scan the QR code displayed on the screen of the camera using “LUMIX Sync”.

bullet02(iOS devices) When a message to confirm the change of destination is displayed, select [Join].


Manually entering a password to connect

  1. Display the screen in Step 2 (character_referenceScanning QR code to connect).

  1. In the setting menu of the smartphone, turn the Wi-Fi function ON.

  1. On the Wi-Fi setup screen, select the SSID (D) displayed on the camera.

  1. (At the first connection) Enter the password (D) displayed on the camera.

When connecting with [Via Network], or [WPS Connection] in [Direct], follow the steps below:


  1. Display the connection method setting screen for the camera.

  1. Press [DISP.].


Connecting via network

  1. Select [Via Network] and then press button_menu-set or button_joy-stick-push_s.

  1. In the setting menu of the smartphone, turn the Wi-Fi function ON.

  1. Connect the smartphone to the wireless access point that the camera is connected to.

  1. On the smartphone, start up “LUMIX Sync”.


Connecting directly

  1. Select [Direct] and then press button_menu-set or button_joy-stick-push_s.

bullet02Select [WPS Connection] to connect the camera to a smartphone. (character_reference[Direct])

  1. On the smartphone, start up “LUMIX Sync”.

To end the Wi-Fi connection between the camera and smartphone, follow the steps below.


  1. Press the shutter button halfway to put the camera in recording mode.

  1. Terminate the Wi-Fi connection.

  1. On the smartphone, close the “LUMIX Sync”.


Sending Images on the Camera to a Smartphone with Simple Operations

You can transfer pictures to a smartphone connected by Bluetooth just by pressing [Q] during playback.

You can also use the menu to connect easily.

Getting started:

bullet02Install “LUMIX Sync” on your smartphone. (character_referenceInstalling “LUMIX Sync”)

bullet02Connect the camera to a smartphone by Bluetooth. (character_referenceConnecting to a Smartphone (Bluetooth Connection))

bullet02Press [button_playback] on the camera to display the playback screen.


Send a single image

  1. Press character_leftcharacter_right to select the image.

  1. Press [Q].

  1. Select [Single Select].

bullet02To change the send settings of images, press [DISP.]. (character_referenceImage Send Settings)

  1. On the smartphone, select [Yes] (for Android devices) or [Join] (for iOS devices).

bullet02This connects automatically using Wi-Fi.


Send multiple images

  1. Press [Q].

  1. Select [Multi Select].

bullet02To change the send settings of images, press [DISP.]. (character_referenceImage Send Settings)

  1. Select the images and then transfer.

  1. On the smartphone, select [Yes] (for Android devices) or [Join] (for iOS devices).

Settings: [Single Select]/[Multi Select]


bullet02If [Single Select], press character_leftcharacter_right to select the image and then press button_menu-set or button_joy-stick-push_s to execute.

bullet02If [Multi Select], use the same operation as with “Send multiple images”. (character_referenceSend multiple images)

bullet02It is not possible to transfer images with file sizes exceeding 4 GB.

bullet02Images recorded using the following functions cannot be transferred:

– [MOV] videos, [Apple ProRes] videos

bullet02When recording, recording is prioritized so it will take time for sending to complete.

bullet02If the camera is turned off, or the Wi-Fi is disconnected before sending is completed, then sending will not restart.

bullet02You may not be able to delete files or use the [Playback] menu while sending.

bullet02When the following functions are being used, [Wi-Fi Function] is not available:

– [Streaming Function]

– [Auto Transfer]
