Power supply

A battery or an AC adaptor (optional/commercially available) can be used as the power supply for the unit.

bullet02The unit is compatible to following batteries. (As of January 2025)

– AG-VBR59 (supplied/optional, supports quick charging)

bullet02AG-VBR59 supports quick charging. Use a battery charger (AG-BRD50: optional) to perform quick charging.

It has been found that counterfeit battery packs which look very similar to the genuine product are made available to purchase in some markets. Some of these battery packs are not adequately protected with internal protection to meet the requirements of appropriate safety standards. There is a possibility that these battery packs may lead to fire or explosion. Please be advised that we are not liable for any accident or failure occurring as a result of use of a counterfeit battery pack. To ensure that safe products are used we would recommend that a genuine Panasonic battery pack is used.

(A) To the AC adaptor

  1. Connect the USB cable to the AC adaptor and to the DC IN terminal of this unit.

bullet02Insert the USB cable as far as they will go.

  1. Insert the AC adaptor into an AC outlet

bullet02As the charging lamp lights up green, charging starts. It will turn off when the charging is completed.

bullet02If the charging lamp flashes (character_referenceCharging lamp during charging)

character_diamondConnecting to the AC outlet

It is possible to use this unit with power supplied from the AC outlet by turning on the unit with the AC adaptor connected.

Even when you use the AC adaptor for recording images, keep the battery connected.

This allows you to continue the recording even if a power failure occurs or the AC adaptor is unplugged from the AC outlet by accident.

bullet02We recommend using an optional Panasonic AC adaptor (DMW-AC11) to supply power and charge.

bullet02You can also charge with a battery charger (AG-BRD50: optional).

bullet02A commercially available AC adaptor and USB cable can be used to supply power and charge this unit.

  1. Recommended specifications for the commercially available AC adaptor

  1. For supplying power and charging, use a USB cable with an output rating of 27 W or greater.

bullet02You can also use an AC adaptor with 5 V/500 mA or better for charging.

However, charging time may be longer than with the recommended AC adaptor.

bullet02Operation is not guaranteed with all commercially available devices.

bullet02We recommend using Panasonic batteries (character_referencePower supply).

bullet02If you use other batteries, we cannot guarantee the quality of this product.

bullet02Do not heat or expose to flame.

bullet02Do not leave the battery(ies) in a car exposed to direct sunlight for a long period of time with doors and windows closed.

The battery status display will change as imageicon_battery_6 character_arrow imageicon_battery_5 character_arrow imageicon_battery_4 character_arrow imageicon_battery_3 character_arrow imageicon_battery_2 character_arrow imageicon_battery_1 while the remaining battery level gets lower. It will flash in red when the remaining battery level is zero.

bullet02The power status display may not be displayed depending on the setting in the menu.

bullet02Repair or copy of the clip, or update of the firmware is not possible when it is flashing in red.

Checking the remaining battery level with the battery

bullet02The remaining battery level can be checked with the indicator display by pressing the <CHECK> button on the battery when it is not charging.

– The remaining battery level is a rough indication.

– The indicator will not illuminate even if the <CHECK> button is pressed when the remaining battery level is zero. Charge the battery.

bullet02The progress of the charging is notified by the flashing position of the indicator while the battery is charging.

Once the charging is completed, the indicator turns off.
