Tethered Recording Function Has Been Enhanced

It is now possible to use the tethering software with a Wi-Fi connection.

The procedure for using “LUMIX Tether” with wired LAN has been changed.

Using Tethering Software with a Wi-Fi Connection

Getting started:

bullet02Turn on the camera and PC.

bullet02Install the tethering software on your PC.


  1. Display the connection method setting screen for the camera.

Connecting via network

  1. Select [Via Network] and then press button_menu-set or button_joy-stick-push_s.

bullet02Connect the camera to a wireless access point. (character_reference[Via Network])

  1. In the setting menu of the PC, turn the Wi-Fi function ON.

  1. Connect the PC to the wireless access point that the camera is connected to.

  1. Use operations on your PC to connect the camera to the tethering software.



Connecting directly

  1. Select [Direct] and then press button_menu-set or button_joy-stick-push_s.

  1. Use operations on your PC to connect the camera to the tethering software.


  1. Use the tethering software to operate the camera from the PC.

To end the Wi-Fi connection between the camera and PC, follow the steps below.


  1. Press the shutter button halfway to put the camera in recording mode.

  1. Terminate the Wi-Fi connection.

Changes to the Procedure for Using “LUMIX Tether” with Wired LAN

[Tether(USB ethernet adaptor)] has been changed to [USB ethernet adaptor] and therefore the procedure for using “LUMIX Tether” with wired LAN connection has been changed.


Getting started:

bullet02Turn on the camera and PC.

bullet02Install “LUMIX Tether” on PC.


  1. Set the camera as a DHCP server.

bullet02If you have modified settings in [IP Address Setting (LAN)], turn the camera off and on again.

  1. Set to wired LAN tethering connection.

  1. Connect the commercially available USB ethernet adaptor to the camera, then use a commercially available LAN cable to connect the camera and the PC.

(C) A PC on which “LUMIX Tether” is installed

  1. Use “LUMIX Tether” to remotely control the camera.
