Basic setting of the camera (SRT)

Also refer to the description for “Basic setting of the camera”.

Step 3: Setting for each protocol and starting the streaming

SRT client

  1. Set the [SYSTEM] menu character_arrow [FREQUENCY]/[REC FORMAT].

bullet02For details about the setting items (character_reference[STREAMING FORMAT] (SRT))

  1. Select the [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [STREAMING PROTOCOL] character_arrow [SRT CLIENT].

  1. Set the destination. (character_referenceSetting of the destination)

bullet02You can also set a destination from an SD card for setting that has been created using the P2 Network Setting software. (character_referenceEntering the setting using the setting tool)

  1. Select the [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [START] character_arrow [ON].

If the camera is connected to the transmission destination through a network, the camera starts the transmission of streaming video.

bullet02To stop the transmission of the streaming image, select the [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [START] character_arrow [OFF].

bullet0223.98 Hz streaming is not possible with SRT.

bullet02[START] menu cannot be selected when the streaming cannot be started due to reasons such as the network is not connected, etc.

bullet02Starting/stopping of the streaming from the camera can be assigned to the USER button. (character_referenceAssigning functions to the USER buttons)

bullet02Streaming cannot be started by pressing the USER button when the menu or the thumbnail screen is displayed.

bullet02For settings such as URL, refer to the manual for each streaming service.

bullet02Streaming may not be possible depending on the operating condition of the streaming service.

bullet02The range of transmission can be adjusted in [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [SRT SETTING] character_arrow [TTL/HOP LIMIT]. Consult the administrator of the network you are using for details.

bullet02Depending on the usage environment, you can adjust the latency in [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [SRT SETTING] character_arrow [LATENCY]. Consult the administrator of the network you are using for details.

SRT listener

Start the streaming with an operation of the application software or device at the receiving side (referred to as “receiving side” hereinafter).

  1. Set the [SYSTEM] menu character_arrow [FREQUENCY]/[REC FORMAT].

bullet02For details about the setting items (character_reference[STREAMING FORMAT] (SRT))

  1. Select the [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [STREAMING PROTOCOL] character_arrow [SRT LISTENER].

  1. On this unit, set the following items with [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [SRT SETTING].

bullet02Set the standby port in [PORT].

Number 80 and the same value as the port number set for other menu item cannot be specified.

bullet02When the streamed data is to be encrypted, select the encryption protocol in [ENCRYPTION] and enter a passphrase in [PASSPHRASE].

  1. Specify the IP address and the stream ID of this unit as shown below on the receiving side, then start streaming.

srt://(IP address):(Port number)

bullet02The stream ID is fixed to the following value in the SRT listener mode:

#!::m=publish,r=PanasonicStream

bullet0223.98 Hz streaming is not possible with SRT.

bullet02Stop the streaming with the operation in the receiving side.

bullet02For details about the operations to start streaming from the application software, please see the manual for the application software.

bullet02The range of transmission can be adjusted in [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [SRT SETTING] character_arrow [TTL/HOP LIMIT]. Consult the administrator of the network you are using for details.

bullet02Depending on the usage environment, you can adjust the latency in [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [SRT SETTING] character_arrow [LATENCY]. Consult the administrator of the network you are using for details.

bullet02Streaming cannot be started while the thumbnail screen is displayed.

Management of setting information (SRT)

You can set, save and load the destination.

character_diamondSetting of the destination

Information regarding the destination can be set or referenced.

Also refer to the explanations in “Referencing destination from the memory card”, “Loading destination information from the memory card”, and “Clearing the destination information”.

Setting the destination with the camera menu

  1. Select the [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [CONNECTION INFO.] character_arrow [MEMORY].

  1. Set the following items with [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [SRT SETTING].

bullet02Enter the destination URL in [DEST URL] using the following format:

srt://(server URL):(port number)/(path)

bullet02Enter the stream ID in [STREAM ID].

bullet02When the streamed data is to be encrypted, select the encryption protocol in [ENCRYPTION] and enter a passphrase in [PASSPHRASE].

bullet02In general, the URL requires the stream ID parameter, but there are cases when the stream ID is included as part of the path, depending on the service. Refer to the manuals for the streaming services, etc., for details.

bullet02Even if you have set [ENCRYPTION] to other than [OFF], the communication is not encrypted if the passphrase is left blank.

character_diamondSaving the destination information on the memory card

  1. Insert a memory card formatted with the unit.

bullet02The card slot to perform loading and saving can be set in the [OTHERS] menu character_arrow [FILE] character_arrow [SLOT FOR LOAD/SAVE].

  1. Select the [NETWORK] menu character_arrow [STREAMING] character_arrow [SAVE (SD CARD)].

  1. Select [YES].

bullet02Only items saved are the ones that are used in the destination setting.

bullet02The name of the file in the memory card to save the destination information cannot be changed.

bullet02The file with the destination information saved on the memory card is encrypted.

bullet02When the protocol is either RTMP(S) or SRT client, only the settings for the selected protocol are saved.

bullet02Save is not possible when the starting character string of the [RTMP(S) RECEIVER URL] or [DEST URL] (“rtmp://”, etc.) is not set correctly.

[STREAMING FORMAT] (SRT)

The item that can be selected varies depending on the [STREAMING PROTOCOL] settings.

bullet02You can select the following streaming formats when you selected [SRT CLIENT] or [SRT LISTENER].
