NDI HX2 function [CX20]

By connecting this unit and an NDI HX2 compatible switcher from Vizrt NDI AB to a network via wired LAN, you can control some of the functions on this unit by operating the switcher.

Setting of the camera

For details of each operation, refer to the operating instruction of the NDI HX2 compatible switcher.

The following functions cannot be used when the NDI HX2 function is enabled. Some of the menu items related to those functions cannot be selected as well.

– Recording function

– Functions of the playback system including the thumbnail display

– Wireless LAN

Step 1: Making settings for wired LAN

Wired LAN settings [CX20]/[CX18]

Step 2: Settings for the NDI HX2 function

Set the [SYSTEM] menu [FREQUENCY]/[REC FORMAT].

For details about the setting items ( character_reference [STREAMING FORMAT] (NDI HX2))

Select the [NETWORK] menu [NETWORK FUNC] [NDI HX2].

Restart the unit. [NDI HX2] is set after restart.

In the [NETWORK] menu [NDI HX2] [STREAMING FORMAT], set the format when streaming.

This cannot be used when set to UHD.

The NDI HX2 function can be used when all of the following conditions are satisfied.

– The menu has been set according to “[STREAMING FORMAT] (NDI HX2)” ( character_reference [STREAMING FORMAT] (NDI HX2))

– The [SYSTEM] menu [SUPER SLOW] [OFF] is set

– The [RECORDING] menu [REC FUNCTION] [REC MODE] [NORMAL] is set

Step 3: Enabling the NDI HX2 function

After making the settings for the NDI HX2 function, refer to the information on the website, etc., for Vizrt NDI AB and enable the NDI HX2 function.

To enable the NDI HX2 function of the unit using the tool from Vizrt NDI AB, it is necessary to select [NDI HX2] in the [NETWORK] menu [NETWORK FUNC].

You can set the device names and channel names displayed in applications compatible with NDI HX2 using the following menu items:

– Device name: [NETWORK] menu [NDI HX2] [CAMERA TITLE]

– Channel name: [NETWORK] menu [NDI HX2] [source name]

Step 4: Making multicast settings

One streaming can be distributed to multiple NDI HX2 compatible switchers via supported router, etc., when the multicast function is used.

Select the [NETWORK] menu [NDI HX2] [MULTICAST] [ENABLE].

Specify [NETWORK] menu [NDI HX2] [MULTICAST ADDRESS].

Set [MULTICAST ADDRESS] within following range.

224.0.1.0 to 239.255.255.254

The multicast port number is selected automatically.

Disable the LAN card not to be used when receiving the multicast image to be displayed on a computer with multiple LAN cards installed.

Range of streaming can be adjusted with the [NETWORK] menu [NDI HX2] [TTL/HOP LIMIT]. For details, contact the network administrator.

You can set the domain name for detecting this unit from NDI HX2 compatible devices with [NETWORK] menu [NDI HX2] [mDNS]. ( character_reference [mDNS])

Proper operation cannot be guaranteed if there is another camera with the same settings in the same network.

Step 5: Using the NDI HX2 function

Control the unit by operating the NDI HX2 compatible switcher.

Streaming may stop when the date/time is set while streaming.
