You can charge the battery either using the supplied charger, or in the camera body.

You can also turn on the camera and supply power from an electrical outlet.

You can also use the Battery Charger (DMW-BTC15: optional).

bullet02The battery that can be used with the camera is DMW-BLK22. (As of January 2022)


Optional battery DMW-BLF19

You can also use DMW-BLF19 (optional), but there are the following limitations:

bullet02The following functions cannot be used:

– [Rec Quality] exceeding a resolution of C4K

– [Rec Quality] with a high frame rate video exceeding a recording frame rate of 60.00p

– [Variable Frame Rate] exceeding a frame rate of 60 fps

bullet02The battery capacity is low, so this reduces the number of pictures that can be taken and the available recording time.

bullet02There will be 4 remaining battery charge indicators.

We recommend using DMW-BLK22 (supplied/optional).

Charging with the Charger

Charging time: Approx. 230 min

bullet02The indicated charging time is for when the battery has been discharged completely.

The charging time may vary depending on how the battery has been used.

The charging time for the battery in hot/cold environments or a battery that has not been used for a long time may be longer than normal.

bullet02When the battery is inserted while the charger is not connected to the power source, the charging lights turn on for a certain period to allow you to confirm the battery level.

bullet02After charging, disconnect the power source connection and remove the battery.

bullet02If the [50%] light is blinking quickly, then charging is not occurring.

– The temperature of the battery or surroundings is either too high or too low.

Try charging at an ambient temperature between 10 °C and 30 °C (50 character_degreeF and 86 character_degreeF).

– The terminals of the charger or the battery are dirty.

Remove the connection to the power source, and wipe with a dry cloth.


Battery Insertion

bullet02Always use genuine Panasonic batteries (DMW-BLK22).

– You can also use DMW-BLF19 (optional), but there are limitations. (character_referenceOptional battery DMW-BLF19)

bullet02If you use other batteries, we cannot guarantee the quality of this product.

  1. Set the camera on/off switch to [OFF].

  1. Open the battery door.

  1. Push the lever (E) in the direction of the arrow and then remove the battery.

bullet02Ensure that no foreign objects are adhering to the inner side (rubber seal) of the battery door.

bullet02Remove the battery after use.

(The battery will drain if left inserted in the camera for a long period of time.)

bullet02The battery becomes warm after use, during charging, and immediately after charging.

The camera also becomes warm during use. This is not a malfunction.

bullet02Be careful when removing the battery as the battery will jump out.


Inserting a Battery into the Camera for Charging

  1. Connect the camera USB port and the AC adaptor using the USB connection cable.

bullet02You can also charge the battery by connecting a USB device (PC, etc.) and the camera with the USB connection cable.

In that case, charging may take a while.

When the battery is inserted into the camera for charging and the camera is turned on, you can record while the camera is being supplied with power.

Using the Camera While Supplying It with Power (Supplying Power/Charging)

Since this camera and the items supplied with the Battery Charger (DMW-BTC15: optional) are compatible with USB PD (USB Power Delivery), you can charge while the camera is being supplied with power.

Connect the USB connection cable, AC adaptor and AC cable/AC mains lead of the Battery Charger (DMW-BTC15: optional) to the camera.


Charging time: Approx. 170 min

There is a possibility that the use of non-genuine batteries can cause accidents or malfunctions that may lead to fire or explosion.

Please be advised that we are not liable for any accident or failure resulting from the use of non-genuine batteries.

bullet02Do not leave any metal items (such as clips) near the contact areas of the power plug.

Otherwise, a fire and/or electric shocks may be caused by short-circuiting or the resulting heat generated.

bullet02Do not use the AC adaptor or USB connection cable on other devices.

This may cause a malfunction.

bullet02Do not use USB extension cables or USB conversion adaptors.

bullet02The battery can be charged even when it still has some charge left, but it is not recommended that the battery charge be frequently topped up while the battery is fully charged.

(Since characteristic swelling may occur.)

bullet02If there is a power outage or other problem with the electrical outlet, then charging may not complete successfully.

Reconnect the power plug.

bullet02Do not connect to keyboard or printer USB ports, or to USB hubs.

bullet02If the connected PC enters sleep status, then charging/power supply may stop.

bullet02If the battery indication does not go to [icon_battery-indi6] even when charging is complete, the battery may be deteriorating.

Try not to use that battery.


[Power Save Mode]

This is a function to automatically turn the camera to sleep (power save) status or turn off the viewfinder/monitor if no operation is performed for a set time. Reduces battery consumption.

[Sleep Mode]

Sets the amount of time until the camera is put to sleep.

[Sleep Mode(Wi-Fi)]

Sets the camera to sleep 15 minutes after being disconnected from Wi-Fi.

[Auto LVF/Monitor Off]

Sets the amount of time it takes for the viewfinder/monitor to turn off.

(The camera is not turned off.)

[Power Save LVF Shooting]

Puts the camera to sleep when the recording screen is being displayed on the monitor when automatic viewfinder/monitor switching is active.

[Time to Sleep]

Sets the amount of time until the camera is put to sleep.

[Method of Activation]

Sets the screen where the camera is put to sleep.


[Only Control Panel]: Puts the camera to sleep only when the control panel (character_referenceControl Panel) is displayed.

[While Recording Standby]: Puts the camera to sleep from any screen during recording standby.


bullet02To recover from [Sleep Mode], [Sleep Mode(Wi-Fi)], or [Power Save LVF Shooting], perform one of the following operations:

– Press the shutter button halfway.

– Set the camera on/off switch to [OFF] and then [ON] again.

bullet02To recover from [Auto LVF/Monitor Off], press any button.

– While connected to a PC or printer

– During video recording/video playback

– During a [Time Lapse Shot]

– When recording with [Stop Motion Animation] (when [Auto Shooting] is set)

– When recording with [Focus Transition]

– During HDMI output for recording
